The Feed

Here's a video of Luke trying to eat some rice cereal:

We started trying to feed him when he turned 5 months, but he doesn't quite get it yet. The only way he knows how to feed is to suck on something, so you give him the spoon of cereal and he just tries to suck on the spoon. We don't feed him the cereal every day, and we only do it once in the day; we figure he's probably not quite ready yet to eat it all the time, so we're just giving it to him occasionally and eventually he'll figure out how he's supposed to eat it.

I'm Batman.

Me and Nai were at a Wal-Mart the other night and they had Batman masks for children. So naturally, we had to try it out...

Om Nom Nom

Lately, this has been Luke's favorite hobby (pic taken this morning):

He loves eating his hands. He sticks them in his mouth and then chews and sucks on them. Most of the time he'll try to push his hand in as far as he can (he can almost fit his entire hand in his mouth!) but sometimes he'll just put his fingers in. Occasionally he'll try to put both his hands in at the same time, but he's not very successful at that. Often times he'll prefer his hands over his pacifier. I think the pacifier gets in his way.

Grabbing Your Attention

Sorry I haven't posted in a while... been busy with work and the blog kind of fell off my radar. Luke hasn't stopped growing, though! He's now 5 months and doing great. He's done a lot of new things that I hope to share with you guys in the next few blog posts.

One of the things he's learned how to do is grab objects. You can now offer something to him and he'll be able to hold it. He likes shaking his rattle and grabbing his pacifier, although he hasn't yet figured out how to orient the pacifier to stick it in his mouth!

Here's a video we took a few weeks ago, when he just started to interact with the objects on his play mat. When we first got him the mat, he was not interested in it at all. Then he took interest in the side posts. Then he started staring at the objects dangling in front of him. Now he actually grabs the objects and plays with them. He even managed to press the button that plays music!
